Course Descriptions

Beginning Pilates Mat:
This course covers the foundational concepts of the neutral body alignment, correct breathing, and core activation for optimal experience in a Pilates matwork class. This is a perfect starting placed if you have never tried Pilates, students will learn the basic fundamentals and progress through the beginning matwork exercises. Participants can expect to elongate their body while working on strength and flexibility, and gaining a better sense of body awareness.

Beginning/Intermediate Pilates Mat:
With a close attention paid to the foundational skills of correct alignment, breathing and core activation, students will experience a complete hour-long workout of exercises from the beginning and intermediate Pilates repertoire. Participants can expect to work on core strength and flexibility, spinal alignment and elongation as well as balance.

Intermediate Pilates Mat:
The foundational skills of alignment, proper breathing and core activation are always being considered as students work at a quicker pace through the beginning, intermediate and occasionally some advanced Pilates matwork exercises. Participants should experience a stronger core, increase flexibility and range of motion as well a better sense of balance and ease of movement.

Pilates Physio Ball:
Students will practice intermediate level Pilates exercises using physio balls and foam rollers for enhanced balance training and a deeper sense of core support in movement. There is always variety in this fun and challenging smaller group course. Participants can expect to gain an increased sense of kinesthetic awareness with balance, strength and flexibility.

Brain Gym/Integrated Movement:
This movement development class focuses on movement concepts of Educational Kinesiology. Movements explored are based on brain and body integration using constructed goals to focus on for each class. Participants will be exploring physical movements that will optimize how we lean and perform in all areas of our lives. One hour.
